How we research

Parkadero is not a feed. Every car park and hotel on this site was checked by two people — Ivo Wassenaar and Christoph Paterok — before it earned its place. Here is exactly how that works.

1. Gather

For every city we start wide: official operator pages, city parking rules (ZTL zones, environmental zones, resident-only streets), and hundreds of recent reviews from drivers who actually parked there. We collect prices, height limits, walking times and — just as important — the warnings: break-in reports, overcharging valets, lots that fill by 9am.

2. Check by hand

Then we go through every single candidate, one by one. We cross-check the price against what drivers paid recently, confirm how access really works, and look at the safety picture. If we can’t verify a car park — or the reviews tell us you shouldn’t leave your car there — it’s out. In a typical city we reject roughly a third of what we researched. The number of kept and rejected picks is shown on each city page.

3. Photo-verify

Photos on Parkadero are matched to the real place before we publish them: we compare each candidate photo against the address, the signage and the operator’s own material, and mark verified ones with a “Photo-verified” badge. Where we’re not sure yet, we say so — you’ll see “not yet photo-verified” instead of a stock image.

What we don’t do

We don’t accept payment for a spot on a city page, and hotels can’t buy their way into “hotels worth booking for their parking”. Picks are made first; links come after.

Found a price that changed, or a garage we should look at? We read everything sent to the address on the legal notice page.
